Our charitable partners

West Highland Yachting Week is delighted to announce that their charitable partner for 2026 is the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust.

The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust is a national charity that takes young people aged 8-24 on sailing and outdoor adventures to inspire them to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer.

For many young people, simply picking up where they left off before their diagnosis just isn’t possible. So, when treatment ends, the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust’s work begins.

Any young person who has been treated for cancer from across the UK can join a transformational four-day or five-day sailing experience from Largs in North Ayrshire or East Cowes on the Isle of Wight.

Young people rediscover what they are capable of again and stop feeling like ‘the only one’ through the friendships they make, boundaries they push, independence they gain, acceptance they find, and the skills they learn.

Because of the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, young people start to re-establish their purpose and place in the world, they feel their mental wellbeing improve, and they are inspired to believe in a brighter future.
