To celebrate the 70th anniversary of West Highland Yachting Week we’re throwing a 70s party!
Get your glad rags on to dance the night away 70s style to the Stillwater Band… long hair, wigs, flares, flowery shirts, platforms are all in vogue…. And the best seventies outfit judged by the JRC will win the WHYW 70 prize. The dance is on Tuesday August 1 following the WHYW 70th Anniversary Reception and mid-week prizegiving at the Argyllshire Gathering Halls in Oban. Doors open 2000hrs.
There will also be smaller prizes for any competitors aged 7 or 70 in keeping with the trend – so whatever your age group, don appropriate dress and see how funky things get!
In addition to a free West to East Crinan Canal transit for the winner, Scottish Canals have provided a family of four ticket to the Falkirk Wheel including £30 lunch voucher for 2nd place, while Tarbert Harbour Authority are providing a free nights berthing on passage home with a voucher for Starfish Restaurant for 3rd place. With no entry fee and 10% transit discount why miss this opportunity.
