Largs to Ardrishaig Feeder Race
Seven yachts started this morning from Largs heading for Ardrishaig in a SSW breeze of 15-18 knots. They will take their own times at intermediate points and also their own finish times. There was no entry fee for this race but there are excellent prizes courtesy of Scottish Canals and Tarbert Harbour. Thank you to Graeme Randall and Alan Arkison of Fairlie Yacht Club for carrying out the start on our behalf.
Class Divisions have been revised
In accordance with NoR 4.6, Class divisions have been revised:
Class 3 has been amalgamated into Class 1
Class 4 has been amalgamated into Class 6
Class 6 is now Restricted Sail for CYCA handicaps over 13.75 minutes but below 16.75 minutes
Class 9 is now Restricted Sail for CYCA handicaps 16.75 minutes and over

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of West Highland Yachting Week we’re throwing a 70s party!
Get your glad rags on to dance the night away 70s style to the Stillwater Band… long hair, wigs, flares, flowery shirts, platforms are all in vogue…. And the best seventies outfit judged by the JRC will win the WHYW 70 prize. The dance is on Tuesday August 1 following the WHYW 70th Anniversary Reception and mid-week prizegiving at the Argyllshire Gathering Halls in Oban. Doors open 2000hrs.
There will also be smaller prizes for any competitors aged 7 or 70 in keeping with the trend – so whatever your age group, don appropriate dress and see how funky things get!
Clyde Feeder – More Prizes
In addition to a free West to East Crinan Canal transit for the winner, Scottish Canals have provided a family of four ticket to the Falkirk Wheel including £30 lunch voucher for 2nd place, while Tarbert Harbour Authority are providing a free nights berthing on passage home with a voucher for Starfish Restaurant for 3rd place. With no entry fee and 10% transit discount why miss this opportunity.

Complimentary Photographs at West Highland Yachting Week.
To mark the 70th. year of West Highland Yachting Week, competitors will be able to download free of charge jpeg files of the photographs taken at the 2017 event by Ron and Graeme Cowan of www.yachtingimages.co.uk for a period of four weeks after all the photographs are identified and named.
Ron & Graeme have covered the event since 2009 and this year they will also be producing a series of short videos of each day’s racing.
